A museum is an institution that functions to protect, collect, develop and communicate it to the public. Every region in Indonesia must have a museum with a very complete historical trail. One area that has a museum with detailed historical knowledge is Lombok. Tourists who come to Lombok are very unfortunate if they don't visit the museums here. The museum in Lombok which is very famous and always crowded is the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum.

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum was inaugurated on January 23, 1982, by the Minister of Education and Culture Dr. Daoed Joesoef. This museum stores many historical collections ranging from pre-historic relics, Hindu relics, Islam, even collections during the Dutch colonial period are here. The collections in the NTB Museum have a total of 7,698, in their management, they are also classified based on criteria.


Attractiveness

Tourists who come to this place will be greeted by a 4.1-meter-long estuarine crocodile at the front when they pass through the lobby. The crocodile has been preserved and stored in a glass box so that tourists do not need to be afraid to pass this estuarine crocodile. Every hallway in this place has beautiful paintings that tell the zenith of the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa. The NTB Museum has 2 main buildings known as permanent exhibition rooms.

In the first building, tourists can see the geography of the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa through detailed miniatures. Tourists can also learn about species of flora and fauna that are endangered and protected by the government. If the ID of the first building contains miniatures of the islands of Lombok and Sumbawa, the second building is no less cool because in this room tourists can see miniatures of Borobudur and Prambanan temples. When entering the 2nd building, tourists will be greeted by several pairs of brides in traditional clothes, such as the Sasak, Sumbawa, Bima, and Balinese tribes. Not only that, but tourists will also see jaran kumput or better known as piggyback. The NTB Museum also has a collection of traditional looms that are always used by the people of Lombok. There are still a lot of collections in this place, such as various types of porcelain from China, Takapan (ancient manuscript documents), a relic of the Bima sultanate

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum has a strategic location, which is on Jl. Panji Tirta No. 6, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara. The route that must be taken to get to this place is very easy. Tourists who don't bring their vehicles, don't worry because there are lots of public transportation going to the West Nusa Tenggara Museum.

Tourists who want to visit this museum, you don't need to pay to buy a ticket because to enter this place is free or free of charge. This tourist spot starts operating from 08:00 to 14:00.
